Mundito Espinal

Rafael Edmundo "Mundito" Espinal Hernández (born September 3, 1934 in La Romana ; † August 12, 2015 ) was a Dominican journalist , presenter and composer .

Espinal left the Dominican Republic with his parents, who opposed the Trujillo dictatorship , at the age of thirteen. In New York he became a member of the Partido Revolucionario Dominicano .

From 1971 he produced the radio program De todo un poco , later with his wife Milagros Gracía the television program of the same name. As a composer, he became known with songs such as Salsa pa tu lechón , Llegó Navidad , Consejos de Navidad and Llegó Nochebuena otra vez . Nada and Viejo amigo were recorded by Anthony Ríos , Un imposible by Camboy Estévez , Piénsalo and La noche está triste by Fernando Casado and Mayra by Fernando Villalona .

Espinal suffered from complications from diabetes in old age and died of pulmonary edema at the age of eighty.
