Minatitlán is a municipality in the Mexican state of Colima . The municipality covers an area of ​​416.1 km² and had 8174 inhabitants at the 2010 census. The administrative seat and largest place of the municipality is the Minatitlán of the same name .

Agriculture and iron mining are of particular economic importance.

The municipality borders the Municipios Colima , Villa de Álvarez , Coquimatlán and Manzanillo and the State of Jalisco .
