Cuauhtémoc is a municipality in the Mexican state of Colima . It was named after Cuauhtémoc , the last Aztec ruler.

The municipality covers an area of ​​413.38 km² and had 27,107 inhabitants at the 2010 census. The administrative seat is the Cuauhtémoc of the same name , while the largest town in the municipality is almost Quesería . Other larger places in the municipality are El Trapiche and Alcaraces .

The municipality borders on the Municipios Colima , Villa de Álvarez and Comala as well as the state of Jalisco .
