Natívitas is a municipality in the Mexican state of Tlaxcala . The municipal area extends over an area of 52.7 km², the 2010 census counted 23,621 inhabitants in the municipality. The administrative center is the Natívitas of the same name , while the most populous place is Santiago Michac .

The Municipio Natívitas is located in the southwest of the state at an altitude of 2200 m to 2300 m . It is entirely part of the Physiographic Province of the Sierra Volcánica Transversal . The municipality drains completely over the Río Balsas into the Pacific . Geologically, the municipal area consists of 63% alluvial soil and 23% tuff . Soil type of 58% of the municipality is Phaeozem with 19% Cambisol . About 88% of the municipality is used for agriculture.
The Municipio Natívitas borders the Municipios Tepetitla de Lardizábal , Ixtacuixtla de Mariano Matamoros , Santa Ana Nopalucan , Tepeyanco , Santa Apolonia Teacalco , Tetlatlahuca , Santa Apolonia Teacalco and Zacatelco, and to the south and west of the Mexican state of Puebla .

The 2010 census counted 23,621 people in 5,264 residential units in the municipality. Less than one percent of them are speakers of an indigenous language , including 28 Nahuatl speakers and 14 Mazateco speakers . About 4.6% of the population were illiterate. 8,681 residents of Natívitas were registered as economically active, of which about 72% were men and 2.4% were unemployed. 13.2% of the population lived in extreme poverty.
