Tetlanohcan is a municipality in the Mexican state of Tlaxcala . The municipality extends over an area of almost 40 km², the 2010 census counted 9880 inhabitants in the municipality. The administrative seat and largest place in the municipality is San Francisco Tetlanohcan of the same name.

Tetlanohcan is located in the south of the state on the eastern edge of the capital of the state of Tlaxcala de Xicohténcatl at the foot of the extinct Malinche volcano .
