Murillo Gurgel Valente

Murillo Gurgel Valente (born November 3, 1927 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a former Brazilian diplomat .

Life

Murillo Gurgel Valente is the son of Maria José Gurgel Valente and Mozart Gurgel Valente. His brothers are Maury Gurgel Valente and Mozart Gurgel Valente Júnior . He is married to Roseny Gurgel Valente; they have three daughters.

Valente studied at the Rio Branco Institute . In 1952 he graduated in Law at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro , and in 1967 to study at the Superior Coll of Brazil. In 1952, Valente joined the foreign service and became third-class legation secretary in Ottawa .

From 1969 to 1970 he was Counselor at the United Nations Office in Geneva . He was then transferred to Los Angeles as consul general from 1971 to 1973 , which was then followed by an appointment as ambassador to Jeddah ( Saudi Arabia ) until 1979 , where he was in Kuwait City from 1973 to 1975 and in Manama from 1975 to 1979 ( Bahrain ) and Abu Dhabi . Finally, he was still from February 4, 1980 to March 28, 1987 as ambassador in Singapore and from March 28, 1987 to July 9, 1992 in Oslo and Reykjavík .
