The Murray River is a right tributary of the Peace River in the Peace River Regional District in the northeast of the Canadian province of British Columbia .

The Murray River has its origin in Upper Blue Lake at 1,269  m altitude within Monkman Provincial Park on the eastern slope of the Canadian Rocky Mountains . Initially it flows in a north-northwest direction through the mountains. The Murray River overcomes the 60 m high Kinuseo Falls within the provincial park . The river now turns north and passes Tumbler Ridge . There he takes the Wolverine River from the left. Later, the Murray River runs along the eastern boundary of Gwillim Lake Provincial Park . The Murray River now flows north. It unites at East Pine with the Pine River coming from the west. The Murray River has a length of about 200 km. At the gauge 33 km above the mouth, the mean discharge is 83.6 m³ / s. Between May and July the river carries the largest amounts of water.
