The Burgstall Hoheneck , also spelled Hohenegg , is an abandoned hilltop castle of the tower castle type at 665  m above sea level. NHN about 175 meters north-northeast of the "Peterbauer", west of the Tölzer Isar reservoir in the Oberfischbach district of the municipality of Wackersberg in the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district in Bavaria .

According to Stephan Bammer, the author of the “Chronicle of the Wackersberg Community”, Hoheneck Castle was first mentioned around 1155. Adalbero and Richer, from the Hohenburg family , named their sidelines after the castle. 1172 is a Rickher von Hoheneck named, he was then a crusader during the crusade of Henry the Lion , he probably died at the company. In 1257 the castle then became the property of the Tegernsee Monastery . The castle is said to have been abandoned as early as the 14th century and in 1394 it was mentioned in an exchange document as a castle stables.Together with the former Reichersbeuren Castle , a current castle, Otto von Pienzenau against Hartmannsberg Castle to the Bavarian Duke Stephan III . exchanged. In 1578 the castle was owned by Hörwart von Hohenburg.

Wall and neck moats are still preserved from the small former castle complex . The place names Bürg, Burgstein and Hoheneck remind of the castle today.

Two sisters once lived in the castle, but one of them was blind. Her seeing sister cheated out of her gold income. When this came up, the blind sisters threw over a candlestick in anger, whereupon the castle burned down, which led to the fall of Hoheneck Castle.
