The Postal Hornstein is an Outbound hilltop castle and later Castle Hornstein on the extreme north end of a terrain spur of the Isartal -Hochufers instead of the Chapel of St. George in Hornstein , in the municipality of Egling in the district of Bad Tolz-Wolfratshausen in Bavaria .

The castle was first mentioned in 1285. From 1460 to 1510 the Torers of Eurasburg are named as owners. In the period from 1524 to 1578 the castle was demolished and a castle built, which from 1637 to 1803 was owned by the Schäftlarn monastery . In 1810 the castle with the castle chapel mentioned in 1325 was demolished and in 1868 the chapel of St. George was built.
