Musa Gibril Bala Gaye

Musa Gibril Bala Gaye GORG (born August 13, 1946 ; also Mousa G. Bala Gaye) was Minister of Finance and Economy and Foreign Minister of Gambia .

Life

Bala Gaye is a Gambian politician, economist, banker and diplomat. He had a long career in government service and worked in the banking sector and the economy before September 25, 2003 as finance minister ( Secretary of State for Finance and Economic Affairs ) in the Cabinet Yahya Jammeh came in. He served in that position through March 10, 2005.

On March 24, 2005 he became Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the Gambia and held this position until October 24, 2005. In a cabinet reshuffle, he then took on the position of Secretary of State for Trade, Industry and Employment . Shortly afterwards, on November 15, he took over the finance and economics department in another cabinet reshuffle.

Bala Gaye received the Order of Grand Officer (GORG) in May 2009.

On June 19, 2009, Bala Gaye was replaced by Abdou Kolley as Minister of Finance.
