Wolmirstedt Museum

The Wolmirstedt Museum is a regional museum founded in 1927 in Wolmirstedt , a town in the Börde district in Saxony-Anhalt . The Wolmirstedt Museum is an institution in the Börde district.

The museum is located in a former quarry stone barn from 1846, which is part of a historical building ensemble on the medieval castle complex in the city center of Wolmirstedt. The outdoor area includes the gatehouse, the manor house, the castle chapel, the castle and the castle garden. It is possible that in 1480 in the style of brick Gothic architecture built chapel to visit.

The full-time museum has exhibitions on the following topics:

  • Geology and use of mineral resources in the Börde district from the beginning to the present

The museum has had a museum shop since 2012, in which an extensive range of local history literature and regional products is available.

The Museum Wolmirstedt works closely with the schools in the region and is a cooperation partner of the Kurfürst-Joachim-Friedrich-Gymnasium , the Johannes-Gutenberg-All-Day School and the Education and Leisure Center Wolmirstedt.
