The Musgrave Park ( Irish Páirc Musgrave ) is a stadium in the Irish city of Cork , which for rugby games will be used. It has a capacity of 9,251 spectators and is next to Thomond Park home of the Munster Rugby provincial team and the home of the Dolphin RFC and Sundays Well RFC clubs . It was named after the Irish company Musgrave Group , which donated the property and has a distribution center directly opposite.

rugby

The provincial team Munster Rugby uses the stadium for smaller matches in the Pro 12 league, as well as for friendly matches. However, the games of the Heineken Cup will only be played in Thomond Park in Limerick . Furthermore, the clubs Dolphin RFC and Sundays Well RFC use Musgrave Park for their home games. They each have their own field on the east side of the central stadium. In addition, important local rugby games for amateurs and schools are played in Musgrave Park.

Other sports

In 1991 the football club Cork City played a league game against the Shamrock Rovers and a UEFA Cup game against FC Bayern Munich (score 1: 1) in Musgrave Park.
