The Free State Stadium ( Afrikaans : Vrystaatstadion ), also known as Vodacom Park Stadium , is a rugby and football stadium in Bloemfontein , South Africa .
history
The stadium is home to the rugby teams Free State Cheetahs , who play in the Currie Cup league, and the Central Cheetahs , who will represent the two states of Free State and Northern Cape Provinces in the Super 14 from 2006 .
During the Confederations Cup in 2009 , three preliminary round matches and a semi-final took place here.
For the soccer world championship 2010 the stadium was expanded to 48,000 seats, the floodlights were renewed and a new sound system was installed.
The venue currently offers 46,000 seats.
