The Fanny Hensel Music School is the state music school in the Mitte district of Berlin .

It is an educational and cultural institution of the city of Berlin and was created in 2001 through the merger of the three district music schools of the former districts of Wedding , Tiergarten and Mitte . One of the forerunners was the Volksmusikschule Berlin-Mitte at Gipsstrasse 3, which was founded in 1949 and which was built up thanks to Professor Ernst Meyerolbersleben , who was the head of the school from 1951 to 1953.
