Mustafa Sert (born April 12, 1980 in Hendek , Turkey ) is a Turkish football player .

Club career

Mustafa Sert started his career at Sakaryaspor . There he played mostly in the reserve team, but at the age of 18 he already made his first professional appearances in the Turkcell Süper Lig . For the 1999/2000 season, the defender was loaned to the amateur club Siirtspor to collect more match practice. In 2001 he moved to Denizlispor . In the 2002/03 season he made it with his new team to the round of 16 of the UEFA Cup , where they were eliminated against the eventual titleholder FC Porto . In the following season Sert was awarded to the second division Manisaspor in the second half of the season. Immediately afterwards, Sert moved to his ex-club Sakaryaspor, with whom he had to start relegation to the second division at the end of the season. In the following season he went to İstanbulspor AŞ , which failed at the end of the season in the promotion playoffs . Mustafa Sert has been playing for the second division team Malatyaspor since 2007 .

National team

Mustafa Sert played two games for the Turkish U-21 national team . In the defeats against Portugal (March 7, 2000) and Italy (March 10, 2000) he was in the starting line-up.
