Zverinac ( Italian : Sferenzi ) is an island in the archipelago off Zadar in Croatia .
Location and inhabitants
The island is opposite Božava , on the northeast coast of Dugi Otok and Sestrunj . In 2011, 43 people lived on the only 4.2 km² island. It belongs to the Sali community . There is a ferry connection to Zadar and Božava.
history
The island was first mentioned historically in 1421 under the name Suiran . In the village there is the Baroque Fanfonga palace from 1746, and the remains of walls from Roman times can be found in Poripišće bay .
