Svetac ( Croatian : Saint), also Sveti Andrija (Croatian: Saint Andrew) is a Croatian island in the Adriatic Sea . It belongs to the Komiža municipality within the Split-Dalmatia County .

Svetac is about 25 km west of Vis and has not been inhabited for several years. In 1951 there were 51 residents in Svetac, and in 2001 there was one more. The island is privately owned by the Zanki family. Svetac had been settled for centuries and played an important role as a navigation point in the Adriatic. There are remains of Byzantine buildings on the island. In the east there used to be an Illyrian settlement called Kraljicin .

The island is densely overgrown; the vegetation is Mediterranean. The dominant tree species are the holm oak and the Aleppo pine . The coast is mostly steeply sloping. Around the island, depths of 100 m are quickly reached. The Eleanor's falcon nests on Svetac and the offshore island of Kamik , and other rare bird species are also native.

The name Sveti Andrija used on some maps for the island of Svetac can easily lead to confusion with the island of Sveti Andrija off Dubrovnik .
