Drvenik Mali (pronounced Dirvenik Mali, Ital .: Zirona Piccola) is an island in the Adriatic Sea in Croatia County of Split-Dalmatia .
The island is also called Ploča (plate) by the local population . The island's 50 to 70 inhabitants are spread over several small settlements. The main town on the island is the port of Borak , where the boats are moored and the Jadrolinija ferry docks. There are also the settlements Dolici, Petomavar, Matussin Bok, Vela Rina and Mala Rina, as well as in the interior of the island Velika Kuknara and Mala Kuknara. The highest point of this 3.4 km² small island is called Glavica and is located at 79 m above sea level. Drvenik Mali is connected to the neighboring island of Drvenik Veli and Trogir , 8 km away , by Jadrolinija ferries, which serve the island several times a day .
In contrast to other islands in the region, Drvenik Mali has hardly been explored for tourism. In this way, flora and fauna have been preserved in their origins. Many Mediterranean medicinal plants thrive there. There are many olive plantations, vines are grown and carob trees grow there. The "extra virgin" olive oil is very popular and is sold all over Croatia.
