At Kırşehirspor he played a season almost continuously and was poached at the end of the season by league rivals Gaziantep Büyükşehir Belediyespor . Here he played for one and a half seasons and was loaned to Gaskispor for the second half of the 2006/07 season.

In the summer of 2007 he returned to Erciyesspor and played here for one and a half seasons. In the spring of 2009 he moved to the third division Mersin İdman Yurdu and experienced the runner-up in the TFF 2nd Lig and thus promotion to the TFF 1st Lig at the end of the season . Despite this success, Kaya's expiring contract was not extended, whereupon Kaya hired at the second division Istanbul Güngörenspor . After half a year he left this club and went to the third division Altay Izmir .

In the summer of 2012, his move to his former club, the second division side Kayseri Erciyesspor , was announced. After Kaya rose to the Süper Lig with Erciyesspor, he left the club the following summer and signed a two-year contract with the relegated Orduspor .

As early as the summer of 2014, he moved on to third division club Yeni Malatyaspor . With this club he reached the championship and thus promotion to the TFF 1st Lig on the 34th matchday of the 2014/15 season, the last matchday of the season .
