My Love Story !! - Ore Monogatari ( Japanese 俺 物語 !! , Ore Monogatari !! , Eng. "My story !!") is a manga series by Kazune Kawahara and Aruko. It was released in Japan from 2011 to 2016, adapted as an anime television series and translated into several languages. The work can be classified into the genres Shōjo , Comedy and Romanticism.

The tall and strong Takeo Gōda ( 剛 田 猛男 ) looks a lot older, but is only just entering the first year of high school. Because of his looks, he was popular and successful in sports, but not with the girls. His sandpit friend Makoto “Suna” Sunakawa ( 砂 川 誠 ), on the other hand, is raved about - also by the girls Takeo falls in love with. But Suna always refuses. When Takeo protects a girl from a grabber on the train, she comes to visit him afterwards. She wants to thank him for his help with home-baked cake and soon more meetings will follow, where Suna is always there. Takeo believes the cheerful Rinko Yamato ( 大 和 凛子 ) has fallen in love with Suna and wants to help her win his heart. But Suna reveals that she has fallen in love with Takeo instead. At first he is amazed, but is then happy to have found a girl who likes him. Suna also explains that so far he has always rejected all the girls because they talked badly about him behind Takeo's back. He values ​​his friendship with Takeo and wants to support his young relationship with Yamato.

The first chapter of the manga was published on October 1, 2011 in Bessatsu Margaret Sister magazine . The regular publication then took place from December 13, 2011 (issue 1/2012) to July 13, 2016 (issue 8/2016) in the magazine Bessatsu Margaret - both are published by Shueisha . The publisher also brought out the series in 13 edited volumes.

The series has been published in German by Panini Manga since July 2016 in five volumes. An English translation is published by Viz Media , a French translation by Kana , a Spanish translation by Editorial Ivréa and a Chinese translation by Tong Li Publishing .

Adaptations

Anime

In 2015, Madhouse produced an anime adaptation with 24 episodes for Japanese television, directed by Morio Asaka . The series' main writer was Natsuko Takahashi , the character design was created by Kunihiko Hamada and the artistic direction was with Mio Isshiki . The series was first broadcast from April 9 to September 24, 2015 after midnight (and thus on the previous TV day ) on NTV , as well as on TV Aichi , BS TV , Miyagi TV , Shizuoka Daiichi TV , Nankai Hōsō , with an offset of up to two months . TV Shinshū , Nittele Plus , Hiroshima TV and Nagasaki Kokusai TV . Animax also showed an English version and the Crunchyroll platform made a version available with various subtitles, including German and English.

The music of the series comes from the band SENS. The song Miraikei Answer ( 未来 形 Answer) by Trustrick was used for the opening credits and the credits were underlaid with Shiawase no Ari ka ( 幸 せ の あ り か ) by Local Connect.

Real film

Director Hayato Kawai adapted the work as a live action film, which was released in Japanese cinemas on October 31, 2015. Takeo Gōda was played by Ryōhei Suzuki , Rinko Yamato by Mei Nagano and Makoto Sunakawa by Kentarō Sakaguchi .

Light novels

To Ore Monogatari !! appeared several novels as light novels . Ore Monogatari is from Kanae Shimokawa !! in two volumes, which were published by Shūeishas Imprint Cobalt Bunko on March 1st and October 1st, 2013 respectively.

Adaptations of the real film by Akemi Shinno and Shuka Matta were released by Shūeisha Orange Bunko and Shūeisha Mirai Bunko, respectively.

In 2013 the series received the Kōdansha Manga Prize for the best Shōjo series and in 2016 it was awarded the Shōgakukan Manga Prize in the same category. The twelfth volume in the series sold over 300,000 copies in the first four weeks of its publication, and the eleventh volume sold over 340,000 copies in the same time.
