My rainy Days (Japanese Tenshi no koi ) is a Japanese drama directed by Yuri Kanchiku. The film is based on the mobile phone novel of the same name, My rainy Days . Nozomi Sasaki and Shosuke Tanihara play the main roles. The film was Sasaki's cinema debut.

history

The film is about the seventeen year old student Rio Ozawa. Because of her traumatic past, she no longer cares about anything and is only interested in money. That's why she works more or less as a prostitute.

When she meets the 35-year-old teacher Kouki Ozawa through an accident of her photographer, she falls in love with him and changes. She follows Kouki and asks him out on a date. Kouki is initially confused by this and refuses for a specific reason. However, Rio does not give up, even takes tutoring from him and suggests a deal. If she reaches all points in her history exam, she will get a date with him. Even though she only scores 99 out of 100, Kouki meets with her.

Rio spends a night with him before moving to a new school. Since Rio did not know this, her friends help her find out. When the two finally meet, he makes it clear to her that they do not belong together, although he hides the real reason. When he collapses shortly after Rio's departure, she saves his life and drives him to the hospital. Rio poses as his relative to find out the reason for the collapse. A few years ago, Kouki suffered a brain tumor that seems difficult to cure. When both discuss this, Kouki also confesses his love to her. The only way to cure is through surgery, which can cause memory loss. Although Kouki doesn't want to, Rio persuades him to have an operation.

After his operation, the two meet at the train station in Tokyo. At first, Kouki doesn't seem to recognize Rio. Then he realizes how hurt she is and hugs her. Whether he remembers her, however, remains open.

Reviews

According to Japanese media, the film grossed US $ 1,090,202 in four countries. This makes the film a success, so that it was later also released on Blu-Ray.

The film received consistently good reviews. Nihon Review gave it 7/10 points, AsiamovieWeb 6/8 points. Conclusion by Asiamovieweb: “'My Rainy Days' would have had the potential to be even more, but in places it remains simply too superficial. Still, the romantic drama works where it should. It doesn't take more than that for a recommendation, if you're honest. "
