Mykola Polishchuk
Mykola Yefremovych Polishchuk ( Ukrainian Микола Єфремович Поліщук ; born May 2, 1944 in Lypiatyn ( Лип'ятин ), Khmilnyk district , Vinnytsia Oblast , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian medic and politician.
Life
Polishchuk graduated from the medical faculty of Uzhhorod University at the end of 1969 and studied at the Kiev Research Institute of Neurosurgery from 1972 to 1974. The specialist in traumatology has been a doctor of medical sciences since 1986 and a professor since 1991. From 1985 to 2002, Mykola Polishchuk was the director of the Neurosurgical Emergency Clinic and Head of the Administration of Neurosurgical Health Care in Kiev. Since 1993 he has headed the Department of Neurosurgery at the Kiev Medical Academy for Continuing Education PL Schupyk . On April 8, 1997, he was elected a corresponding member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine . Polishchuk authored more than 500 scientific works, including 27 monographs on neurotraumatology , emergency neurosurgery, spinal and spinal cord diseases, and others.
From 2002 to 2005, Polishchuk was a Member of the Verkhovna Rada , where he was a member of the Our Ukraine parliamentary group and chairman of the Committee on Health Protection, Maternity and Childhood. He was also from February 4 to September 27, 2005 in the first cabinet of Yulia Tymoshenko Minister of Health of Ukraine and from September 2006 to March 2010 adviser to the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko .
