Karmen Kočar (born December 1, 1982 in Ljubljana , Slovenia ) is a Slovenian national volleyball player .
Career
Kočar started her sporting career in 2002 in her hometown of Ljubljana . Both in 2004 and 2005, she was able to win the Slovenian double in championship and cup competition with the club. After the two title years she moved to the Austrian first division club SVS Post Schwechat . With the club she became Austrian champion and with a 3-2 win against ATSC Klagenfurt, Austrian cup winner. This was followed by a year-long guest appearance in France at Béziers Volley , before Kočar played again in her Slovenian homeland for Nova KBM Branik Maribor from 2007 to 2010 . During her engagement she was again Slovenian champion in 2009 and in 2010 with a 3-1 final win over OK Kamnik, Slovenian cup winner. In the 2010/11 season she played for the first time in the Bundesliga for VT Aurubis Hamburg . With Hamburg, Kočar finished the season as sixth in the table and only just missed a place in the playoffs of the championship. This was followed by a one-year stint in Croatia before Kočar, who is usually just called "Kiki" by her teammates, played for three different French clubs in the years that followed. For the 2015/16 season she moved again to Germany for the newly promoted NawaRo Straubing . After the end of the Bundesliga season, she played for two months at the Thai club Supreme Chonburi VC. In 2016/17 Kočar played at Allianz MTV Stuttgart , with which she won the DVV Cup , and in 2017/18 in Romania at CS Știința Bacău . Since 2018 she has been playing in her home country with Nova KBM Branik Maribor.
In the Slovenian women's national team, Kočar has made 90 appearances in her career since 2000.
