Myron Benjamin Wright

Myron Benjamin Wright (born June 12, 1847 in Forest Lake , Susquehanna County , Pennsylvania , †  November 13, 1894 in Trenton , Ontario , Canada ) was an American politician . Between 1889 and 1894 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Myron Wright was the older brother of Congressman Charles Frederick Wright (1856-1925). He attended the public schools in his home country and then taught himself as a teacher. Between 1865 and 1869 he worked in various positions for the First National Bank of Susquehanna . He then worked in the financial sector and in the craft sector. Politically, he joined the Republican Party .

In the congressional election of 1888 , Wright was elected to the 15th  constituency of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where he succeeded Frank Charles Bunnell on March 4, 1889 . After two re-elections, he could remain in Congress until his death . He died on November 13, 1894 while on a vacation trip to Canada. At this point in time he had already been re-elected for the next term in Congress. His mandate fell to Edwin J. Jorden after a special election .
