Myron Kyprijan

Myron Wolodymyrowytsch Kyprijan ( Ukrainian Мирон Володимирович Кипріян ; born July 27, 1930 in Wynnyky near Lemberg , Lemberg Voivodeship , Second Polish Republic ; † December 3, 2019 ) was a Ukrainian set designer , graphic artist, painter and restorer.

Life

Myron Kyprijan was born as the son of the philatelist Volodymyr Kyprijan (1896-1934) in what is now the Ukrainian city of Wynnyky and graduated from high school in Lviv in 1948 . He then studied until 1954 at the Lviv State Institute for Applied and Decorative Arts . From 1954 he was employed as chief artist at a puppet theater in Lviv . 1957 Kyprijan moved to the Lviv " Marija Sankowezka " -Nationaltheater ( Національний академічний український драматичний театр імені Марії Заньковецької ), where it was 1963, the main artist of the theater. During his entire activity at the theater, he designed over 350 theater productions.

He owned an old castle near Chortkiv .
