The Ceena GmbH , formerly SONATA Management GmbH and Städtebahn Management GmbH is a medium-sized company based in Lower Franconia Niedernberg .

prehistory

Torsten Sewerin began his career in the Northern Bavarian Railway , later NBE Group GmbH Co KG in 2002. In the first few years the focus was on the rental of train drivers and tower cars. The first locomotive was purchased in 2003. By the end of 2007 they took over the railway management in the Port of group belonging ports Aschaffenburg (end of 2004), Bamberg (June 2006), Regensburg and Passau (July 2006).

The workshop was outsourced to the LokService24 company in 2006 . In the same year the branch in Dresden was opened. At the beginning of 2010 the company founded the subsidiary NBE Rail Polska Sp. Zoo , now under the name NBE Rail GmbH , based in Warsaw . The NBE Regio was founded in mid-2010 and entered into a joint venture with the Potsdam railway company : the Städtebahn Sachsen GmbH. On December 12, 2010, this took over traffic on branch lines in the Dresden area for 4 years.

The NBE also wanted to operate routes in the Magdeburg area, but these were awarded directly to DB Regio for 15 years , whereas the NBE lodged an objection to the Halle award chamber without success. Also on December 6, 2012, the Naumburg Higher Regional Court lost due to formal errors.

On January 11, 2013, the NBE filed a constitutional complaint against this judgment. However, this has not yet been rejected or accepted (as of October 4, 2014). At the end of 2012, they also took part in the tender for the regional express lines from Frankfurt am Main to Würzburg. However, one was defeated in the award procedure DB Regio.

On June 4, 2013, the Potsdam railway company sold its shares in the urban railway to NBE. In August 2014, the first companies were founded under the name Sonata . This happened due to the unbundling of NBE and Rail Time Logistics GmbH (formerly NbE Logistik GmbH) and the increasing competition between the two companies.

Company history

The company was founded in September 2014 by Torsten Sewerin and is a partner in Städtebahn Sachsen GmbH and STS Städtebahn Service GmbH.

The company was founded in a partnership agreement of September 5, 2014 as Sonata Management GmbH with headquarters in Stockstadt am Main and was entered in the company register at the Aschaffenburg District Court on September 20. The company's purpose was "the participation and acquisition of other companies, the management of companies, commercial and business advice for companies, commercial bookkeeping for companies, as well as railway operations support for companies."

On September 1, 2016, the shareholders' meeting decided to relocate the company's headquarters to Niedernberg , and on January 16, 2017, the company's name was changed to Städtebahn Management GmbH . The latter was registered on January 26, 2017 at the Aschaffenburg District Court, which is still responsible.

On September 30, 2019, the shareholders' meeting decided to change the company's name to Ceena GmbH , and this was registered with the local court on October 8, 2019. There are no known changes to the corporate purpose established in 2014 in the meantime.

Group of companies

The group of companies is active in various branches of the railway and has various subsidiaries for this purpose:

  • SONATA Rail: The company based in Niedernberg rents locomotives to various companies.
  • SONATA Logistics: The company is particularly active in the areas of transport logistics and construction site logistics.
  • Rail Active (until July 10, 2018: SONATA Personnel): The company is primarily responsible for the nationwide provision and provision of railway operating personnel within the framework of temporary employment.
  • Städtebahn Sachsen : The Städtebahn Sachsen was only active in local rail passenger transport. It provided transport services in the Dresden metropolitan area on behalf of the Upper Elbe Transport Association. On July 25, 2019, the Saxony urban railway ceased operations on all of the routes it operated without replacement, as the vehicle rental company Alphatrains terminated the leasing contract without notice due to payment problems. As a result, the urban railway no longer had any vehicles available. Due to this, the VVO terminated the transport contract valid until 2024 on July 28, 2019 without notice. On July 26, 2019, the Städtebahn Sachsen filed for insolvency with the Aschaffenburg insolvency court, which ordered the provisional insolvency administration on July 29, 2019. The company is in liquidation.
  • Städtebahn Service GmbH: Workshop facility for the maintenance of trains and locomotives
