The NEW Niederrhein energy and water GmbH (short: NEW Energy ) is a nationwide distributor of energy (electricity, heating and gas) and energy-related services. The parent company is NEW AG , which includes the other subsidiaries NEW Niederrheinwasser GmbH, NEW Netz GmbH, NEW Re GmbH, GWG Grevenbroich GmbH and NEW Smart City GmbH.

NEW Energie itself sells electricity, heating and gas tariffs for private, commercial and business customers. Its subsidiaries are the Klickergie Verwaltungs GmbH, Klickergie GmbH & Co. KG (65% share each) and NEW Viersen GmbH (99.998%). NEW Energie also has a 2.87% stake in Trianel GmbH.

Electricity labeling

According to § 42 EnWG on electricity labeling , since December 15, 2005, all energy supply companies in Germany have been obliged to publish the origin of their electricity.
