NK Orijent Rijeka

NK Orijent Rijeka is a Croatian football club from Sušak , a district in the east of the Croatian port city of Rijeka .

history

The association was founded in 1919. After the country gained independence from Yugoslavia , the club played in the second division from 1992. The 1992/93 season was finished seventh in the second league south, a year later with only one defeat the season managed the runner-up one point behind Neretva Metković .

1994/95 Orijent played in the second division West and managed here again the runner-up, but this time the deficit on master NK Hrvatski dragovoljac was 15 points. Since the association a two-tier first division established the club was relegated to the League 1.B on. There the team was again runner-up, NK Zadar had four points ahead. Thus, the club qualified for the League 1.A . However, the club ended the 1996/97 season seven points behind the relegation place occupied by Cibalia Vinkovci and had to leave the House of Lords again as fourth in the table.

In the second division West, the team was third in the table and thus reached the newly created single-track second division. Relegation was just managed in 1999 with one point ahead of Imotska Krajina . In the following years the club occupied places in the midfield. In 2003 the team landed in the second half of the table after the regular season and thus played in the relegation group, but managed to stay in relegation there as second. The 2003/04 season ended Orijent bottom of the table and rose to the third division.

In the third division West, they just managed to stay third from last in 2005. In the following season the fourth place succeeded.
