NSS Annapolis was a long wave transmitter near Annapolis in the US state of Maryland . It was used to transmit orders to submarines . NSS Annapolis used a shielded antenna as an antenna , which was braced to a braced 356.76 meter high central mast and to nine other towers from 243.84 meters high. Six of these towers were earthed guyed constructions, while three towers were free-standing steel frame constructions like the transmission towers in Junglinster .
