Club history
In 1885 a German cycling club was founded in Saaz. In the 1890s, a Swede who had lived in England introduced football and a team was formed from students from the local German high school.
In 1901 the club was renamed the Saazer Sport- und Radfahrerverein (Saazer SuR), in 1907 it took on the name Deutscher Sportverein Saaz, with which the expansion of the sport offer was taken into account.
The club colors were initially black and white, later blue and white.
The first field was made of ashes and was located on the site of today's hospital. In 1928 the club moved into the stadium on the Eger (Czech: Stadion u Ohře ), which is still in operation today and is currently used by FK Slavoj Žatec .
In 1931 the DSV won the first class northwest without defeat, but lost 4-0 in the semi-finals of the DFV championship against DSV Brno .
In 1934 the DSV Saaz won the so-called Czech-German Cup, a tournament played in Prague with the participation of Slavia Prague , Viktoria Žižkov and the DFC Prague . That year the club also toured Ireland , where they played several friendly matches in Belfast and Dublin .
In 1933/34 and 1934/35, the Saaz team won the DFV championship and, after successfully completing a qualifying round, was promoted to the professional 1st Czechoslovak league. There, the team, called the " miracle eleven " (Czech: " zázračná Anyáctka ") could only hold up for one year.
After the defeat of Czechoslovakia in 1938/39, the NSTG Saaz was founded in 1940 , in which the DSV was absorbed.
