The NStB - Melnik to Sazawa were steam locomotives of the Imperial and Royal Northern State Railways (NStB) of Austria-Hungary .
The eight locomotives were delivered by the Meyer locomotive factory in Mulhouse in 1844 and 1845. The NStB gave them the names MELNIK , KUTTENBERG , PLANIAN , BERAUN , ELBE , MOLDAU , KÖNIGSWART and SAZAWA as well as the company numbers 53-60.
They were modeled on the 2A locomotives by William Norris in Philadelphia , but already had horizontal cylinders.
In 1854, the NStB sold the KUTTENBERG and the ELBE to the kk Östliche Staatsbahn (ÖStB), which gave them the names BABIAGORA and ROHACZ and retired them in 1861.
In 1855 the Austro-Hungarian State Railway Company (StEG) took over the NStB. The received PLANIAN and MOLDAU the numbers 73 and 74.
