Nadine Petra Katarina Shah (born January 16, 1986 in Whitburn (Tyne and Wear) , England ) is a British pop singer, songwriter and musician (guitar, piano). Their music is often compared to that of PJ Harvey , Nick Cave, and Marianne Faithfull .

biography

The daughter of an Englishwoman with Norwegian ancestry and a Pakistani was born in north-east England. She began her musical career as a teenager in London as a jazz singer .

After two EPs , her debut album Love Your Dum and Mad was released in 2012 , produced by Ben Hillier . The album is dedicated to two friends who committed suicide.

The second album Fast Food was released in April 2015. Previously, Shah as a guest musician on the album Shedding Skin of Ghostpoet involved.

The third album, Holiday Destination , produced by Hillier like the previous albums, was released in August 2017. It was nominated for the 2018 Mercury Prize .

On June 26, 2020, the fourth studio album Kitchen Sink was released, which received positive reviews.
