The Nagmachon ( Hebrew נגמחו"ן) is a heavily armored Israeli armored personnel carrier produced by Israel Military Industries (IMI).

It is a further development of the NagmaScho't, which in turn is based on the British Centurion in the Israeli version Scho't , which was introduced into the Israeli army in 1965 . The Nagmachon has reinforced under- hull armor against anti-tank mines and booby traps , and has brackets on the front for mine plows , mine rollers or clearing shovels. In addition to his heavy Centurion tub and sub-well armor of Nagmachon has the armor skirts a reactive armor against HEAT shaped charge ammunition .

Early versions were each equipped with three gun shields for the FN MAG to protect the gunner on the tank from small arms fire . Later models were equipped with two machine guns of the type FN MAG and a closed turret structure (called "dog house") in the form of a raised, rotating, armored cabin with armored glass windows and a hatch . He also has an IS-10 smoke- throwing system , which has four throwing cups, each of which can be equipped with ten CL-3030 smoke grenades . An engine of the type AVDS-1790-2A with smaller dimensions was installed so that access to the vehicle interior is possible via the rear of the tank.

The special tower structure and the increased mine protection make the Nagmachon the ideal platform for counter-insurgency and house-to-house warfare . It was mainly used in the Second Intifada within the Israeli occupied territories and in southern Lebanon during the 2006 Lebanon War. Nagmachons were also used as escort vehicles for military Caterpillar D9 and D10 bulldozers in crisis regions. The Nagmachon is also used as a pioneer vehicle, although its main task is to transport infantry (or motorized infantry ).
