Nagod ( Hindi : नागोद , Nāgod ) is a small town in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh . It has about 22,500 inhabitants and is located in the Satna administrative district .

Nagod is about 27 km from the district capital of Satna , which also has a train station. From there buses run to Nagod and on to Khajuraho.
history
The place was once the capital of the princely state of Nagod .

Several significant archaeological sites can be reached from Nagod by bus or taxi:
- Khajuraho (approx. 75 km northwest)
- Nachna (approx. 25 km southeast)
- Bhumara (approx. 30 km southeast)
The less significant Gupta-era ruins of Pipariya and Khoh are in the vicinity of Nachna.
