The Nahe-Felsen-Weg is a hiking trail near Idar-Oberstein an der Nahe . It is one of the dream loops in the hiking trail system of the Saar-Hunsrück-Steig and is a circular hiking trail that starts and ends in the Idar-Oberstein district of Oberstein. It is 9 km long and was certified with the Premium Hiking Trail hiking seal on July 2, 2010 .

The starting point is the old market square in Idar-Oberstein . From the old town the path leads past the rock church into the forest. Then you reach Oberstein Castle and then Bosselstein Castle , with a view of all of Oberstein and the Prussian Mountains. After crossing the forest, the next vantage point is reached with a view of the Idar-Oberstein districts Nahbollenbach and Weierbach . From there the path leads down to the Altenberg nature reserve . And then past the Fallen Rocks over a vantage point in the Nahe valley back to the castle complex and down to the old town.

Sights and special features

In addition to the castle complexes of Oberstein Castle and Bosselstein Castle , the Altenberg nature reserve is home to numerous species of wild animals and birds. The viewpoints of the Nahe-Felsen-Weg offer views over the Idar-Obersteiner districts of Oberstein, Hohl, Struth, Nahbollenbach and Weierbach and the Nahe.
