Transport connections and infrastructure
Nahbollenbach is characterized by residential developments and industrial and commercial developments. The federal road 41 (B 41) runs on the edge of Nahbollenbach . Via which the most important access to the industrial area “Am Kreuz” can be reached. At the northern end of Nahbollenbacher Strasse, a former district road that now forms the central main road, there is access to the “Kaufacker” industrial park. The southern end of Nahbollenbacher Straße leads to the B 41 and the "Nahetal" industrial park, the largest industrial area in Idar-Oberstein, which is located on the area of the former US Army depot . The Idar-Oberstein exhibition center is located there. The ADAC has also set up its regional customer center there and since 2015 the office of the VdK district association Birkenfeld has also been located there.
There is an animal shelter in Nahbollenbach, as well as a sports field, a rifle house and a multi-purpose hall. The Nahbollenbach daycare center is run by the city. The fire station 3 of the volunteer fire department Idar-Oberstein is stationed in Nahbollenbach, due to the convenient location on the B41 and the proximity to the industrial areas. The place has a forest cemetery with a cemetery chapel. As the districts grow together, Nahbollenbach flows into the Weierbach district in “Rechstrasse” . The Jewish cemetery is a cultural monument. There is a boules pitch in the village center.
In 2016, on a private initiative, a bike park was opened which is maintained by the Nahbollenbach open group in cooperation with the RSC Blitz '59 Idar-Oberstein eV cycling club and is accessible to the entire population.
history
The place has existed since at least the 14th century. For a long time it was its own local church. As part of the Rhineland-Palatinate functional and territorial reform , Nahbollenbach was incorporated into the city of Idar-Oberstein together with four other communities on November 7, 1970.
