Georg-Weierbach is a district of the city of Idar-Oberstein in the Birkenfeld district in Rhineland-Palatinate .

Geography and transport links

The district is located east of the core town of Idar-Oberstein and next to the largest industrial area "Am Kreuz", in which mainly automotive suppliers are located. The Felsenmühle residential area belongs to the Georg-Weierbach district . The Nahe flows south of the municipality and runs along federal road 41 . The place is also called "Hambische" in the regional dialect. There is a city-sponsored youth room for young people. The cemetery is at the “Kirche” bus stop.

history

As part of the Rhineland-Palatinate functional and territorial reform , Georg-Weierbach was incorporated into the city of Idar-Oberstein on November 7, 1970, together with four other communities.
