Nahemah was a metal band from the Spanish Alicante . It is named after a figure of the Babylonian religion , also known as Na'amah or Naamah .

history

The band was founded in 1997 as a black metal band and two years later recorded their first EP Eden’s in Communion , which they distributed themselves. So the small label Iberian Moon Records became aware of NahemaH and released their first album Chrysalis , on which the band went to work a little more experimentally. This was mostly well received and brought NahemaH to a tour in the opening act for the bands Moonspell and Alastis . The album was also released in Mexico via Concreto Records, but otherwise NahemaH went unnoticed outside of their own national borders.

The following years brought profound changes: NahemaH recorded the EP The Last Human , which was never released. Several members then left the band. With a new line-up, the band recorded the album The Second Philosophy and sent demos to various record labels. Finally, the album was released in early 2007 on Lifeforce Records and received worldwide resonance. Even before NahemaH could go on an extensive tour, drummer José Diego left the band, but a replacement was quickly found in Quino Jimenez. In 2009 the album A New Constellation was released .

style

In the first years of its existence, it played symphonic black metal . After a few line-up changes, the band developed their own style, which has elements of Progressive Metal , Post-Hardcore , Doom Metal and Ambient and is often compared to that of the band Opeth .
