Nailgunner was a Finnish thrash metal band from Joutseno that was founded in 2002 and disbanded around 2008.

history

The band was founded in 2002 by the guitarist Toni Lötjönen as a Slayer co-association, with the line-up being expanded by the guitarist Simo Kukkonen and the drummer Jori Sara-aho. During the first rehearsals in Joutseno, the idea of a cover band was discarded and people started writing their own songs instead. Shortly afterwards, Kukkonen left the band. A little later Juha Lähde joined on bass before the line-up was supplemented by guitarist Toni Huhtiniemi and singer Sami Kettunen. In 2004 a first demo was recorded under the name All Life Ends . In the same year the line-up changed, whereupon the guitarist Jan-Erik Eskelinen and the guitarist Tomi Malinen joined them. With this new line-up, material was recorded for the split release Thermonuklear Thrash Metal Warfare with Wounds , which was released in 2005 via Bestial Burst Records . After only one appearance, Malinen was replaced by Janne Puranen. Two songs were then recorded for another split release. This was released in 2006 under the name Outbreak of Evil Vol. III on Nuclear War Now! Productions with Gravewürm , Evil Angel and Grippiud. In the same year, work began on the debut album. When the band wanted to start recording, the singer Kettunen announced his departure, which Eskelinen joined shortly afterwards. Jussi Kaskinen was found as the new singer. In 2008 the debut album Apocalypse was released via AreaDeath Productions . Now or Never . Kalle Nurmi can then be heard as a replacement for Eskelinen, where Nurmi also mixed the album and took over the engineering. After the release, the band broke up.

style

Michel “The Lord of Hate” Renaud from metalcrypt.com assigned All Life Ends to Thrash Metal. While you orient yourself towards the old-school sound, you also work in more modern elements. The vocals are similar to growling and would suit an early death metal band rather than a thrash metal band. The singing sounds like trying in vain to sound like a disaster . The electric guitars would also be reminiscent of Death Metal. Overall, you can use old Slayers, old Metallica and Whiplash as a reference. Jesse Light wrote in his review of Apocalypse. Now or Never , that it contains faster Thrash Metal in the style of old Sodom and Destruction , whereby it also made out traces of Death Metal. Characteristic are double bass , fast riffs and solos as well as rough and difficult to understand vocals.
