Nanga-Eboko is a city in Cameroon in the Center region . It is the capital of the Haute-Sanaga district . It is on the N1 trunk road. The Sanaga River runs north of the municipality .
In German Cameroon , Nanga-Eboko was, along with Doumé and Yagoua, one of the places where the colonial administration tried to grow rice , which was not common in pre-colonial times. In independent Cameroon, the Chinese government supported a new rice-growing project in the city. Nanga-Eboko is on the Douala – Ngaoundéré railway line and has a train station.
