Nanniwan

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nanniwan ( Nanniwan ) is a Chinese revolutionary song from 1943 and one of the most famous songs in the People's Republic of China . The spirit of Nanniwan has been evoked many times by Chinese politicians.

The lyrics are by He Jingzhi , the music by Ma Ke . It is based on a traditional folk melody from northern Shaanxi ( Shanbei ). It was popularized by the Chinese Communist Party . It is also sung in the popular propaganda film The East is Red ( Dongfang hong ) from the mid-1960s.

In order to break the economic blockade by the Japanese aggressors during World War II , Mao Zedong and Zhu De , elite troops under Wang Zhen - the 359th Brigade of the 8th Marsh Army ( Balujun ) - decided to move to Nanniwan in the southeast of Yan'an on the upper reaches of the Yunyan He River in northern Shaanxi to develop the economy and produce agricultural goods and materials for the army to fight the Japanese aggressors. In the years from 1941 to 1944 the troops succeeded in the miracle of making the poor area of Nanniwan as rich as the " Jiangnan area", ie. H. the fertile and rich area south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River (Chang Jiang).

The song was also sung by singer Wang Kun and rock musician Cui Jian .
