Iwai Naohiro
Iwai Naohiro ( Japanese 岩 井 直 溥 ; born October 2, 1923 in Ushigome (today: Shinjuku ), Tokyo Prefecture ; † May 10, 2014 ) was a Japanese composer and arranger .
He finished his studies at the National University of Fine Arts and Music in Tokyo in 1947 . Iwai started working as an arranger in 1959, after specializing in jazz music. Between 1947 and 1959 he gained a lot of experience with various bands.
The focus of his work was on youth and school orchestras, but he was also in demand around the world as a guest lecturer or jury member. His arrangements of famous pop songs and his original compositions have received international acclaim.
