Naoya Umeda ( Japanese 梅田 直 哉 Umeda Naoya ; born April 27, 1978 in Hiroshima Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Umeda learned to play soccer on the school team at Hiroshima Minami High School and the university team at Meiji University . He signed his first contract in 2001 with the Sanfrecce Hiroshima . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . At the end of the 2002 season, the club was relegated to the J2 League . For the club he completed 39 league games. In 2004 he moved to the first division Urawa Reds . In September 2004 he was loaned to the second division Montedio Yamagata . For the club he completed 12 league games. In 2005 he returned to Urawa Reds. In June 2006 he moved to the second division club Shonan Bellmare . For the club he completed 43 league games. In 2009 he moved to third division Gainare Tottori . In 2010 he was with the club master of the Japan Football League and rose to the J2 League. For the club he completed 41 league games. In 2012 he moved to league rivals FC Gifu . For the club he completed 10 league games. At the end of 2012 he ended his career as a football player.
