Napoleon Asmuss

Napoleon Asmuss (born September 20, 1805 in Lübeck , † August 24, 1879 in Riga ) was a German educator and publicist.

Life

The father was Matthias Christoph Asmuß, the mother Anna Margaretha, geb. Dircks.

From 1826 to 1829 he studied theology at the University of Dorpat . From 1852 to 1878 he was editor of the Rigas city papers . In 1877 he received honorary membership of the literary-practical citizens' association .

In addition to numerous biographical and historical articles, he published the “Riga Address Books” and in 1877 an “overview of the history of the literary-practical citizen connection during its 75-year existence”.
