Matthias Uhl

Matthias Uhl (born February 5, 1970 in Nordhausen ) is a German historian .

Life

Uhl studied history , political science and Eastern European history in Halle (Saale) and Moscow from 1990 to 1995 . He received his PhD in 2000 for Dr. phil. and worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Contemporary History (IfZ) until 2005 . Since 2005 he has been employed at the German Historical Institute in Moscow (DHI).

His focus is on Soviet military and security policy and the history of the Cold War .
