Naqoyqatsi is the third part of the Qatsi trilogy by Godfrey Reggio . "Naqoyqatsi" is a word from the language of the Hopi Indians, which means something like "a life of murder", "war as the content of life", (interpreted) "civilized violence". The film was released in theaters in 2002.
content
The film's themes are violence and destruction, which are practically cultivated in some facets of our technological world. However, this topic is not treated in a moralizing way, but with the help of a heavily alienated flood of images. Almost 80 percent of the images are digitally altered archive recordings.
Like the two previous parts, Koyaanisqatsi and Powaqqatsi , Naqoyqatsi also manages without any dialogue. Philip Glass composed the music, cello solos are played by Yo-Yo Ma .
