action

Kusum and her father are thrown out of their apartment because they can no longer pay their debts. Ramprasad, who is in love with Kusum, comes to their aid and places them in the house of Bhavani Shankar, his employer. Bhavani is a widower and very superstitious. He is feared by his workers and his family, although he is afraid of his mother himself.

Ramprasad helped Bhavani to own the house of his ancestors. He is in charge of bringing the house into a habitable condition for Kusum and her father. When the landlord, Gajanan Babu, hears this, he wants to expropriate the homeowner. But he succumbs to Kusum's charm, forgets any dispossession and asks for her hand.

Kusum and Ramprasad turn helplessly to Bhavani's younger brother Babua. He successfully dissuades Gajanan from his marriage plans. Nevertheless, he is determined to expropriate Kusum and her father. In addition, Babua is also enchanted by Kusum's beauty. Finally, Ramprasad turns to Bhavani himself, who, to make matters worse, has also kept an eye on Kusum. Ultimately, the story ends with the wedding of Kusum and Ramprasad.
