Narbutiwka ( Ukrainian Нарбутівка ; Russian Нарбутовка Narbutowka ) is a village in the north of the Ukrainian Sumy Oblast with about 70 inhabitants (2001).
The village is located on the Janivka ( Янівка ), a 14 km long river that is part of the Desna river system . Near southeast of the village is the former military airfield Tscherwone-Pustohorod ( Червоне-Пустогород ).
Narbutivka is located in the north of Hluchiw Raion 30 km northeast of the Rajon center Hluchiw and 170 km northwest of the Sumy Oblast center and belongs to the rural municipality Beresa ( Береза ).
Personalities
- The village is named after the painter, book illustrator, graphic artist and rector of the Ukrainian Academy of Arts Heorhij Narbut, who was born here in 1886 .
- Vladimir Ivanovich Narbut , poet and younger brother of Heorhij Narbut, was born in the village in 1888.
