Narcissus assoanus is a plant from the genus of narcissus in the family of Amaryllidaceae family (Amaryllidaceae). It is sometimes referred to as Narcissus juncifolius or Narcissus requienii . However, it was scientifically described for the first timeunder Narcissus assoanus . According to the priority rule, this is therefore the valid botanical name .
description
Narcissus assoanus grows as a perennial herbaceous plant and reaches a stature height of up to 25 centimeters, whereby the rush-like foliage protrudes slightly over the stem. On each inflorescence there are two to three small, yellow flowers with a diameter of 22 millimeters. The secondary crown, which is a bit more intense yellow, is only five millimeters high.
The beginning of the flowering period depends on the location and is between March and June.
distribution
The distribution area of the Narcissus assoanus is very large for a daffodil species. It grows in southern France , northern and northeastern Spain , Menorca and Corsica . According to some authors, it also grows wild in Portugal . It is sensitive to cold and in Central Europe can only be grown in a cold house .
