Narcissus assoanus grows as a perennial herbaceous plant and reaches a stature height of up to 25 centimeters, whereby the rush-like foliage protrudes slightly over the stem. On each inflorescence there are two to three small, yellow flowers with a diameter of 22 millimeters. The secondary crown, which is a bit more intense yellow, is only five millimeters high.

The distribution area of ​​the Narcissus assoanus is very large for a daffodil species. It grows in southern France , northern and northeastern Spain , Menorca and Corsica .
