Narcyz Olizar (* 1794 in Zahorów , Volhynia , † August 9, 1862 in Sady near Posen , Kingdom of Prussia ) was a Polish count, senator, castellan and member of the Sejm of the Kingdom of Poland until 1831. He was also active as a writer, publicist, painter and political actor of the "great emigration".

Life

Narcyz Olizar was the son of Filip Nereusz Olizar and Ludwika Szczytt-Niemirowicz. He held the title of Count and was Senator-Castellan of the Kingdom of Poland. He was also active as a writer, journalist and painter, both literarily and creatively. He wrote numerous political writings about the time when Poland was divided and emigrated to France in 1831 . There he was politically active in the Hôtel Lambert under the leadership of Prince Adam Jerzy Czartoryski .

He translated his works into German and French. He published his biography in 1853. He owned the villages of Warowsk, Olizarowka, Krapiwna, Warchalewo and Osnina, which he sold in 1824 to Alojzy Żmijewski.

Marriage and offspring

Narcyz Olizar led several marriages. His (1) wife was from 1816 Teofila Olizar , née Gersdorf. His (2) marriage to Emilia Olizar , nee Żmijewska , was followed by one (3 ) marriage to Kazimiera Celina Olizar , nee Kasinowska. Several children resulted from the first two marriages:

  • (1) Narcyza Olizar, married to Prince Borys Czetwertyński;
  • (2) Honorata Olizar, married to Prince Władysław Czetwertyński;
  • (2) Maria Olizar, married to an unknown Kramer;
  • (2) Emil Olizar, married to Wiktoria Modzelewska;
  • (2) Adolf Olizar, married to Antonina Podhorodeńska;
